![]() Dr. Michael D. Kotler, MD
Dr. Kotler was born and raised in Miami, Florida. He graduated in 1969 from Coral Gables Senior High School. In 1973 he received a BS degree in Chemistry from The University Of Miami. He later attended Medical School at the American University receiving his M.D. in 1980 and then entered a General Surgery Residency at The University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Medical Center. He began his career as an Emergency Physician with EMSA Limited Partnership in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He quickly became Medical Director and shortly thereafter was named regional Medical Director. In 1991 after being named Regional Medical Director he and his family moved to New Orleans to run the Southeast United States Region for EMSA. In 2000 his career took a different path as he embarked on a business venture of his own. He opened Pelican State Outpatient Center in Harahan, Louisiana, a state of the art Urgent Care and Occupational Health facility. His 20+ years as an Emergency Medicine Physician together with his administrative experiences have made him very well rounded in many of the disciplines of medicine. He currently serves as Medical Director for a number of companies including Transocean Offshore Deep Water Drilling Co., Wadleigh & Associates, Inc., Atwood Oceanics, etc.
